Addison Pruitt

Principal of Government Relations



Addison Pruitt joined the Compass Government Relations team in June 2021 and brings an extensive background in policy and communications with experience at both state and federal levels. As the former Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland, Addison worked on legislation to improve equity, procurement, and funding opportunities for minority businesses and disadvantaged communities across the state of Maryland.

Addison connects the dots between government advocacy and communications on behalf of Compass clients. Prior to joining Compass, he served as a Communications Specialist for the U.S. Architect of the Capitol, where he coordinated messaging and outreach initiatives to House Members, staff, and key congressional stakeholders as part of the historic Cannon House Office Building’s Renewal Project.

Addison has also built strong connections in Prince George’s County and the Greater Washington Region through his work with several nonprofits and businesses, providing consulting services in brand strategy, graphic design, web development, and multimedia.

A native of Prince George’s County, Addison is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he studied Marketing with a concentration in Product & Brand Management.
