Rob Garagiola



Rob has nearly three decades of political and grassroots campaign and crisis management experience. He has worked with government relations clients to develop innovative strategies to convey their message before traditional media, digital media, and in other formats. In addition, Rob has experience in message development and media relations. He also assists clients with various grassroots approaches affecting public opinion and advocacy.


Rob has been engaged in public relations services on behalf of clients in nearly every sector. He has extensive experience working on grassroots strategies at the federal, state, and local levels. In addition, Rob has assisted with association management for various clients over the years – ranging from corporate governance and development to fundraising and event planning.


Previously, Rob served in the Maryland Senate from 2003 to 2013, having successfully defeating a 16-year veteran in the state legislature and then handily winning two re-elections before retiring. Before being elected to the Senate in 2002, Rob was a federal lobbyist for an international law firm for nearly a half decade. He also worked as a senior legislative aide to Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), the current Ranking Democrat on the House Energy & Commerce Committee from 1994 to 1998, where he helped craft the Democratic leadership message on health care matters for the House Democratic Health Care Task Force, which Representative Pallone Co-Chaired on behalf of the House leadership.

Rob served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1995-2003 and received his jump wings in 2000. He is married to Hannah Powers Garagiola, the founder of CGR Partners. He has five children and a Jack Russell Terrier named Oyster. He enjoys boating, running, and cooking.
